Kevin (Liam's Dad) and Knuckles at the Bell Center

“I will never forget the day we met.

It was October 22nd, 2019. My daughter Emily and I were invited to a dinner at the Bell Center. Many Habs alumni and all the current Habs were there.

We got lucky and sat at Chris’s table. We instantly clicked. I couldn't believe I was sitting there with my childhood hero. One of my best memories of my life.”

“Throughout my life, I’ve had the privilege of meeting many people; some of whom have ended up having a profound impact on me and my life. I believe that Kevin is one of those people who was put on my path for a reason—aside from gaining a new friend, I believe the real reason is getting to meet his son, Liam.

There’s something about Liam that steals your heart, and he certainly has stolen mine.”

“Kevin and I hit it off immediately that night at the Bell Center in October of 2019. He started talking about his son Liam.

Liam was born with a very rare and debilitating Mitochondrial disease called POLG disease. This disease has had a profound affect on not only Liam but his entire family.

No parent wants to be in the situation that Kevin is in at this moment. He has worked tirelessly to raise money to try and not only find a cure, but pay for medications and treatments for not only Liam, but for other families who’s children suffer from this same devastating disease. His efforts and drive to help his son are truly awe-inspiring.

In listening to Kevin tell me a little of Liam’s story that night, I was compelled to help in any way I possibly could, and I promised him I would do just that.”

Liam’s Journey For A Cure

On June 16–18, a team of not-your-typical-cyclists made a 3-day, 300-mile bike ride from Boston to Montreal with the hopes of raising money and awareness for The Liam Foundation.

They raised over $100k!
