Staring a few weeks ago I started visiting schools in and around the Montreal area speaking om behalf of the Kids Help Phone about Bullying. There has been a number of occurances in Canada and the USA where a young child has been bullying so much that their only escape was to committ suicide. I am speaking to kids to let them know there are people out there who care, who will listen who will help them through it. Last week I spoke infront of several hundred students at Chateauguay Valley Regional High School in Ormstown, Qc and already the feedback about kids wanting to be defenders is coming in.

Whats a defender you ask? A defender is someone who instead of watching a bully pick on a person they will step in and stand up for the Victim. I applaude the kids for stepping forward and also to all the schools getting involved.

Yesterday I was over at Wwestmount Park Elementary School. Younger kids but still the same issues. It really hit home when a young boy no more than 11 years old came up to me and said he had been bullied so much that he had thought of hurting himself to take away the pain. These kids need an ear, not to judge or say stop whinning or suck it up.

I will be continuing my stops through out the rest of the school year and then into summer months and fall. For more information about attending your childs school or if you are a teacher please contact us at info@knucklesnilan.com
